Orthodontic issues affect patients of all ages — from kids and teens to adults. The truth is, naturally perfect teeth are uncommon.

Issues like malocclusion, known as a "bad bite," can interfere with everyday tasks such as chewing, maintaining oral health, or speaking. Jaw and bite misalignment can influence appearance as well.

This misalignment might be hereditary, or it could result from habits like thumb-sucking, dental issues, accidents, congenital anomalies, or other health conditions.

At Eastern Virginia Orthodontics, Dr. Peluso and Dr. Savage combine modern technology with their expertise in teeth movement. Their approach effectively addresses various dental concerns, including:

  • Spaces between teeth
  • Crowded teeth alignment
  • Overbites
  • Underbites
  • Crossbites
  • Teeth that stick out
  • Impacted teeth

Bracing Choices & Beyond

A large number of our patients at Eastern Virginia Orthodontics opt for the time-tested metal braces to align their teeth.

While metal braces remain a popular choice for orthodontic treatment in Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach, you have several options to choose from.

Following an initial free consultation, Dr. Peluso or Dr. Savage will discuss the most suitable treatment options tailored to your individual dental needs and desired outcomes.

Comparing Fixed & Removable Solutions

At Eastern Virginia Orthodontics, our priority is to keep you well-informed about your treatment options. Understanding your orthodontic issue is the first step towards fixing it.

For our Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach patients, it's beneficial to learn the differences between fixed appliances, like braces, and removable ones. Fixed appliances, once set by Dr. Peluso or Dr. Savage, remain in place throughout the treatment duration.

On the other hand, when we recommend Invisalign aligners, they can be worn throughout the day and conveniently removed when needed.

While removable appliances such as Invisalign can handle all sorts of cases, the most complex issues are usually best addressed with metal braces.
